Privacy fencing cannot be specified by height and colour alone. Buyers must define whether the desired result is full visual screening, controlled gaps or a blade/louvered sightline. Slat orientation, gap, panel span, post system, wind area, gate design and foundation interface all affect the finished system.

1. What MaiFa currently publishes

The aluminum product range supports aluminum fence, blade/privacy directions and multiple alloy/finish options. The final profile system, panel dimensions and structural suitability must be confirmed by drawing and project review.

2. Define privacy as a measurable geometry

State slat or blade orientation, profile shape, clear gap, sightline direction, overall height and bottom clearance. If airflow or partial visibility is required, show the viewing angle and direction. Terms such as full privacy and semi-private should be backed by a section drawing.

3. Schedule every aluminum profile

List alloy, temper, outside profile dimensions and wall thickness for slats/blades, rails, posts, caps and gate frames. If any frame, bracket or insert uses steel, identify it separately and specify coating and electrical isolation where dissimilar metals meet.

4. Provide wind and support conditions

Privacy panels create more wind area than open picket fencing. Provide site wind information, terrain/exposure, fence height, post spacing, foundation concept and whether panels are solid, gapped or angled. The responsible designer should confirm posts, connections and foundations for the project.

5. Define finish and colour control

For powder coating, state pretreatment, powder system, colour reference, gloss, sample approval, inspection and repair. For anodizing or wood-colour finishes, define the visual sample and acceptable variation. Hardware and touch points should be compatible with the selected finish and environment.

6. Integrate gates and transitions

Gate leaves should repeat the privacy geometry while allowing hinge, latch, clearance and drainage requirements. Schedule end, corner, stepped and sloping conditions. Do not assume a standard panel can be cut on site without affecting finish or structural details.

7. Pack visible surfaces for export

Privacy products have broad visible faces. Define protective film where appropriate, separators, corner protection, crate/pallet arrangement, piece labels and handling instructions. Ask the supplier to state whether film should be removed within a particular period or condition.

Buyer control checklist

A useful procurement file separates the supplier's published range from the exact configuration being ordered. The following controls should be completed before price comparison or purchase-order release.

• Attach an elevation and section showing privacy geometry and gaps.
• State alloy, temper, profile and wall for every component.
• Identify any steel brackets/inserts and isolation requirements.
• Provide wind/exposure, post spacing and site interface information.
• Schedule gates, corners, ends, slopes and transition panels.

Pre-shipment inspection points

How to compare supplier offers on one basis

Build a bid-comparison sheet before reviewing price. Give every offer the same rows for product geometry, materials, coating or finish, posts and connections, gates or accessories, drawings, samples, inspection, packing, quantity per commercial unit, package weights and delivery terms. Mark each response as included, excluded, optional or not stated. Where a supplier proposes an alternative, record the changed value and its effect on interfaces instead of treating it as equivalent automatically.

Commercial comparison should use the same Incoterm and named place, currency, quantity, package scope and document requirement. Separate factory price from freight, local tax, installation and project engineering. This method does not select the lowest quotation by default; it exposes omissions and gives the buyer a clear list of technical questions before sample approval or purchase-order release.
